A truly exceptional and extremely rare hammered copper fish poacher (troutière), preserved in outstanding condition both inside and out. During many years of collecting and dealing in antique French copper cookware, this is the first unmarked silver-lined example I have encountered.
While most troutières were traditionally tin-lined, I am confident that this piece is lined with solid silver, making it an extraordinarily scarce collector's item.
The elegant hammered finish, beautifully crafted construction, and remarkable state of preservation make this an impressive display piece as well as a highly desirable addition to any serious collection of copper cookware.
